 HERBS:
my secret weapon for adding flavor to a dish!

Ok, this post is inspired by my amazingly plentiful garden all thanks to Harbor Greens! (No, they did not pay me to this these things and no, I am certainly not a master gardner. Actually I usually kill everything so these must be hardy herbs if I can make them grow) At the beginning of the spring season I stocked up on some veggie and herb starts at the market and have been watching them grow grow grow ever since!!!!

This is my new ALL TIME new favorite side dish! Seriously, go and make this right now!!! I boiled the green beans until just done but still crisp and then I tossed them in olive oil, fresh peppermint, garlic and a splash of lemon juice at the end!! I ate the whole bowl! All items can be found at the market! And the green beans are even local!!!

Brett's "lunch" for work! He will probably be eating this at 2 am which always seems strange but at least it's fresh and yummy! Whole Wheat pasta with sauteed veggies (corn, carrot, kale, tomatoes, garlic, thyme, red pepper flakes, onion, parsley, basil, chicken and Parmesan on top!!)

 Check out my plants!

 Tomatoes!
Nothing better then cherry tomatoes right off the vine!
These happen to be the orange globe variety!

my trio of hers and my inspiration for my green beans!
Chocolate mint, regular mint and peppermint! I also have rosemary, thyme, parsley, and basil (see below) which make for such flavorful dishes! And yes, my chocolate mint is laying on the ground and yes, I need a cage or something to stake it up....  see I am no master gardener.

my third love in life, besides Brett, Trevi and well maybe garlic too.... BASIL! The king of all herbs!

And what is this scary/monster of a plant you ask..... a tomatillo plant.  I have no idea if we will even get any fruit from it but there are plenty of flowers and little paper looking shells that could be the beginning of many pounds of green salsa!  However, I am not sure if it is warm enough here.

Ok, so all this being said, you really should plant a garden, even if it's a small one or just in pots! The herbs alone are awesome to add flavor to dishes and the money you will save will be worth the few minutes of watering them each day!

The Latest Happenings at Trevi's House!

Nicole and Jake came for a play date! These two were too fast meaning I could never get a picture of them together!

I painted the pocket door in our kitchen with white board paint! As you can see cousin Olivia came to play along with cousin Mia but of course I didn't get a picture here either because the girls are too fast and busy! Next time I guess!

Trevi is trying to climb on everything!

notice her foot trying to get just a little higher by using the base boards!
PS. check out the cute jammies from GG!

The second phase of the tree removal project is well under way! Brett plans to chop all the wood himself!

Sounds a little crazy, I know!

Trevi loves to play in the fridge!

 helping herself to a nectarine!

Apparently she approves of Harbor Greens produce!

Ahh, smart guy! He talked my grandpa into bring over his wood splitter! The pile is get a little smaller.... slowly!

We have a 3rd tooth!!!! No top ones yet but Trevi is figuring out what they are for because she keeps breaking food with them or scrapping food along the bottom ones!
