Happy August..... almost

I am happy to report that summer has felt extra long this year because we have been having beautiful weather since the middle of June! It isn't even officially August yet (4 more hours) and I already feel like we have been blessed! Lets hope for an even better August, September and October!!!

This is a monumentious occasion! Brett made me dinner... without any asking from me or help!!! He researched a recipe, Trevi and him went to the store, he made dinner while I played with my little girl and we had a lovely dinner on the deck! This is the 2nd time in 5.5 years that he has done this and it was much appreciated and enjoyed!!!

Family Fun Day!

Brett planned a fun date night for us so we left Trevi with G and Pa (Brett's parents) and headed off to the Rodeo Drive In Movie Theatre in Bremerton.  It was super fun to snuggle in the back of the truck and watch a movie with homemade popcorn!! We got home from the movie super late so we decided to crawl into bed at Brett's parents house and then we got a fun morning with G and Pa! Plus, Trevi slept until 8am!

our view from the back of the truck with an air mattress, blankets, pillows and popcorn

Trevi watching Pa make a breakfast smoothie!

After having breakfast with G and Pa we headed to Family Fun Day at Sehmel Park with cousin Violet and Auntie Amy.  It was pretty much Trevi's perfect day with bounce houses, snow cones and sunny weather!

Enjoy the PNW sun

My sister once told me that a cloudy day makes for the best animal viewing at the zoo so we decided to try out her theory and headed to the zoo this morning! Thanks for my in-laws we have a full year pass to the zoo for unlimited trips.  I am pretty sure we have paid for it a few times over! It never gets old!

in love with the monkeys! They were swinging around so fast I couldn't even get a picture of them!

After a 3.5 hour nap T was in a super happy mood and ready to play in the sun! So... we headed outside and enjoyed the afternoon until daddy woke up!

 supers sweet shades!

look how long her hair is getting... finally!!!

 drawing on the deck!

Once daddy woke up the peanut had a very big girl dinner experience! She had chicken noodle soup with cheesy bread! Daddy may have even gotten in on the soup action for his "breakfast" before heading off to work!

she is super proficient with her utensils!

 daddy daughter bite!

mommy had a smoothie for breakfast instead of chicken soup! Of course Trevi had some of that too!

Our awesome neighbors gave us a gift card to Boathouse 19 so we decided to head there one beautiful sunny evening on the boat.  (Scott and Erica's boat that is)  T loved being out in the boat and on the water.  She is super good jellyfish spotter and loves to see the birds and other boats.  We had a great dinner and enjoyed the warm weather!

dinner: fish tacos, clams and cajun fries!

On another note, Brett made us a super fun headboard for our bedroom from old pallets! We got the pallets for free from a friend so all we paid for was the stain and sealer.  Brett did an awesome job and completed it in 2 days! I love having a handy husband!

our new end tables are pretty awesome too! Thanks mom!

I love that he just whipped this up in 2 days!

Letting Daddy Sleep

Brett has been working some crazy long hours lately (think 7pm until 1130am and 3pm until 730am: so yes 16.5 hours long shifts) so he is trying to catch up on some sleep during the day.  He can seriously run on no sleep better than anyone I know. He calls himself "The Walking Zombie."  So, today we decided to let him take a nap while T and I went and had a little girls date!

First, we went to the library to return books, pick up new ones and play with the toys! Trevi has figured out the library means new books and she is always so excited!!

running to the checkout with her new books!

waiting in line to check out her books

she is always so excited to get back in the car to read her "new" books!

After the library we decided to get some fro-yo! We both kind of have a fro-yo obsession! Today we shared pom-raz sorbet and mango sorbet with coconut, mochi, boba and we even saved a few gummi bears for daddy!

Don't even think she ate this whole thing... She did however grab it off the table before I could even sit down and take the first bite!

 digging for the boba!

we use hands, spoons, tongues... whatever gets the fro-yo in faster!

Chair photo shoot

Auntie Erica got Trevi this adorable chair from Harbor Greens and she is so in love with it! She is constantly hauling it around from inside to outside.  Of course it is as big as her but this girl is known for carrying things that are a little too big or heavy! Somehow she manages!!

she demanded a snack halfway through the shoot! ;)
