Lake Las Vegas!

Since we've moved a few times we've learned a few things along the way. 1. I love every place I go a little better than the last!. 2. Our kids feel the most comfortable in a house with their own stuff. 3. We love to explore new places once we arrive. We call this being tourists in our own town and it has been so fun and exciting so we keep on doing it!

We decided to take the kids to Lake Las Vegas this past weekend! We went on Saturday afternoon after naps and along with beautiful views and new things to explore there was a Mardi Gras festival going on! It was alive and happening with booths, live music and lots of kids activities. Although we made the ultimate parent fail by not bringing any cash so the kids couldn't do any of the activities thankfully they did not seem to care one bit and after explaining it to them they were happy to feed the ducks and watch instead!

Yes, we live in the desert but we have a 360 degree view of mountains and it's gorgeous!

We saw a turtle crossing the road.. literally crossing the road. I think I would have died if we ran him over. Not sure what he would have done once he got to the curb so Brett decided to help him.

But not before he showed the kids!

Cute little dude!

Lake Las Vegas is very pretty. The actual lake is pretty gross but the hotels on it and the roads are gorgeous with big palm trees and fountains!

They call Lake Las Vegas, "A little slice of Tuscany" and it's totally accurate thanks to the buildings and the bridge!

Fun decorations at the festival.

Any fountain or water fall and these kids are obsessed

GG came to visit! (Happy 90th Birthday!)

Brett's grandma "GG" came to visit us in Henderson so we could celebrate her 90th birthday! Auntie Erica and Auntie Mich were gracious enough to fly down with her and we had an awesome weekend visiting the strip, eating good food and seeing an awesome show! Thank you for visiting us and spending time with the kids and I! And thank you, Brett for taking care of the kids so we could run all around town!
Getting to the gate... who's the one with the 90th bday anyways?!

if they knew how bad the landing was going to be in Vegas they might not have come

They arrived... on very shaky legs

so excited to have GG and the Aunties here!

We love our GG

These kids got some awesome one on one time with her

Dinner at Holstein's Sunday night!
GG loved the idea of burgers and oh man they were good!

I'm so thankful these two aunties took time away from their families to visit us!

At Tao for dinner! Whoa, this was an awesome meal!

Checking out the gardens at the Wynn before our show!

We treated GG to a cirque show called La Reve and it was unreal!

We bought our tickets, headed to our seats and a very sweet hostess asked if GG could make it down to her seat a few rows down. We said, "well, yea probably." But the lady had offered 2 tickets at the eye level very plush seat section and wondered if we wanted to split up our group to accommodated GG. We basically told her she would be ok but if we could get 4 seats together it would be much appreciated and guess what? we ended up in the best seats in the house all thanks to someone thinking GG was "old" hahah!!!!! It was unreal and so special!

We love GG so much and we are so thankful she visited and took the time at 90 to get on a plane, traipse around the Las Vegas strip and eat fun and different food!

We love you and Happy 90th Birthday on the 14th!

New Firsts

Lots of Firsts!

We've made it to Henderson and so far I think we are all very happy about it! We wake up to sunny skies everyday, it's getting warmer each day (68 degrees today), we explored a little, Brett started work and Trevi started preschool!

~First day of full day preschool~

I thought it as only right to celebrate her first day with an after school treat!

Her school is awesome about communication during the day with an app called Tadpole Parents so I got to see what she was up to!
They celebrated Dr Seuss' birthday and there were plenty of activities during the day!

She got to be the helper too which made her feel very special.

~First park in Henderson~
we've been frequenting the Arroyo Grande park almost every afternoon!

They love the slides!
