Baptism
June 24, 2012
I got baptized yesterday and it was quite the experience! Our church baptizes you in a super cool horse trough filled with, thankfully, warm water! I had been thinking about getting baptized for awhile now and when I saw the announcement in the church bulletin I realized it was finally my time! I filled out the paperwork, answered the questions and turned everything in before I could back out. I don't love being on display or having the attention on me so the idea of getting up in front of the entire church was a little scary but I did it and I am really glad I did! I am lucky enough to have two really great mentors/encouragers in my life who help me navigate my faith by answering questions, explaining things I don't understand and listening to me. These two amazing people are my sister-in-law, Erica, and my mother-in-law, Bo. These two women have been a steady part of my life since I started dating Brett and without them yesterday would not have been nearly as special! I am eternally grateful for their love and support! My father-in-law, Dick, was also present and very helpful. Not only did he hold my towel but I am told he was the one who recited that I was baptized in the name of the father, son and holy spirit! Brett was also there with Trevi! He kept her with him, despite a little noise from her, until after I was baptized. It was really important to me to have her and Brett there! I can't to wait explain this moment to her one day! Also, had I not met Brett, I might not have ever explored this burning flame in my heart. Not knowing what it was before and then having it slowly reveled as my relationship with the Lord would not have happened had I not met Brett, been encouraged to explore it and excited to continue learning! Last but not least my parents were there to support me! I'll admit, I was a little nervous to tell them, but they were very gracious and supportive. It was neat to have them attend the church that I have spent 4 years at now. I know they ran into some friends and probably a few patients which may have been comforting for them to see a familiar face. This was a very cool day!!! I was baptized with about 10 other people and it was really great to hear their testimonies and share the day with them!
Thanks John for the pictures! You made a very un-graceful event look pretty cool!

Well..... We have lived in our house for a full year!! Not only is this a big accomplishment for Brett and I because we bought a house but because this is now the longest we have lived in one place since getting married!!!! I love our house and all the changes we made to it but what I love most about it is it's rental ability! I am getting antsy, excited and ready for our next adventure, if only we had something planned. For now, we are happy to be in Gig Harbor with our families and great jobs! Here are a few photos of our house remodel! Personally, I don't think the pictures do all of Brett and our families hard work justice.
Hosting our first dinner at our house long before the remodels were finished! Warmth came from the fireplace and dinner came from the grill!!! The Teitzel's and Langlow's were such good sports! Look closely, you can see Nicole's belly while she was pregnant with baby Jake! (whom will be a year old at the end of the month)
I know these are not great pictures but shooting a room is seriously hard. Hope you like all the changes and updates! It was a lot of fun and a LOT of work!!! Here's to hoping to never do it again... :)

all our paint!! This does NOT include the 18 gallons of KILZ paint we used to coat the entire house!
4 Heacox girls and 1 Teodoro all trying to decide on paint. Yikes!
However, I could not have done it without all the help!
